1.0 Overview
============
This printer driver allows you to print documents from any Windows
application to your MultiSpot Network Printer. Separate
drivers are provided for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. You should
install the driver that matches your version of Windows.

2.0 System Requirements
=======================
The MultiSpot Network Printer requires that
a Canon Network Interface Device (NID) be installed on the
parallel input port and the NID needs to be connected to your
network. The NID must be configured for the proper communication
protocol and frame type before printing. Included with your
software is a copy of Canon NetSpot v2.3.1 Network Configuration
Utility. Please see the MultiSpot Network Printer User's Guide
for instructions on installing and using NetSpot. Detailed
NetSpot information can be found in the NetSpot User's Guide,
which is on your CD-ROM in the file GUIDE-E.pdf. This file is in
Acrobat Reader format. A copy of Reader is also on the CD-ROM for your convenience.

1. For Windows 3.1, the minimum amount of RAM memory required is
4 MB, although 8 MB is recommended. For Windows 95, the
minimum amount of RAM memory required is 8 MB, although 16 MB
is recommended. Increasing the amount of RAM memory will
result in faster printing and reduce compatibility problems
with some applications. As an alternative, you can increase
the amount of virtual memory to reduce the possibility of "low
memory" conditions (although this does not improve printing
performance).
2. Allow at least 20 MB of free hard disc space on the drive that contains your system's TEMP directory for Windows 3.1 and 40 MB for Windows 95.
3. The workstation used for loading NetSpot and configuring the
printer has additional requirements. You need at least 16 MB
of memory and 40 MB of free hard disc space.

3.0 Specific Information for Windows 95 Users

3.1 Installing the Printer Driver
---------------------------------
To use this printer driver with software application packages that operate with Microsoft Windows 95, use the following installation procedure:

Installing from NetSpot printer configuration utility
It is necessary to install the NetSpot printer configuration utility before installing FAX-L800/L900 Printer Driver.

1. Start Windows 95 on your system.
2. Start NetSpot and Click Windows and select "IPX Device".
Confirm that your FAX-L800/L900 printer status is ready.
3. Click "Device" menu and point to the "Install Driver...".
4. Double-click on the "Add Printer" icon to start
the "Add Printer Wizard".
5. Click "Next" button.
6. Click "Network Printer" radio button and click "Next" button.
7. Click "Browse..." and select your FAX-L800/L900 print queue and then click OK button.
8. Click "Next" button.
9. Click "Have Disk" button.
Click "Browse..." button and specify the directory
<//Netspot/Drivers/Lc9000/Win95/> where the FAX-L800/L900
Printer Driver for Windows 95 is located on your computer's
hard disc drive.
10. Click OK to the "Install From Disk" dialogue.
11. Click OK and follow the instructions of Add Printer Wizard
until the installation is finished. The FAX-L800/L900
Printer Driver icon will then appear in the Printer folder.
